Testimonials to Lulu and the Richards family

The following are some of the messages sent in to Lulu and the Richards family.

Gooday lulu,

We are two teenage girls from England, we have read your article in a magazine called sugar and have become very interested in you and your adventures, we have written a short poem in your honour:If a tree lands on my head I don't need an ambulance i'll call lulu instead! With a bark bark here and a bark bark there, When lulu's there, there's no need to be scared. It took us for ever to think of something to write to you, because you are so great we were worried you would think little of this because you are so great.

Hi Len

Just watched Lulu's story on Animal Planet, absolutely Brilliant!

Ian.

Dear Lulu:
It must seem strange to have strangers writing to congratulate you ... for saving your Daddy... Let me add my name to the people who admire your contribution to make planet Earth a better place... one wouldn't expect less from a beautiful kangaroo living in such a beautiful country as Australia :-) I read about you on CNN - isn't the internet wonderful.. it provides a forum to learn about good things happening in the world .. your story made me smile this morning; a pleasant change from what we usually read in the news. How lucky your family are to have you a part of their family.. do you like cats too? We live with three cats.. and wish we had you as part of our family too! :-) I notice your Mum is from England; my Grandmother immigrated to Canada in 1923.. we all wish she had picked a country like Australia (cause it is so much warmer) to emigrate to...

Thanks for the smile... A friend from Canada / Wendy

Lulu,

I am a fully grown British woman, living in Ghana in West Africa .  I read your story on CNN.com (I can't believe I am writing to a roo !) and I am really impressed by you.  Well done and all the very best.  I hope you have children (joeys) as wonderful as you someday.  To your extended family, God bless you for the kindness you showed to a small animal. We look forward with assurance to the day when everyone on the earth will be people like you – kind and gentle – and we can all live in paradisaic conditions – humans and animals alike. Psalm 37.

Take care and love from my mum's dog – Bonnie!!  Aby x

Lulu and family-

We heard about you on CNN and we think the world of you and your beloved family.  The world is a much better place because you are all in it.

Your nursing instincts in that moment when you helped your Dad vomit rival human instincts and skill.  When I, Barbara, was in the recovery room following my surgery and was gagging, my post-op nurse popped a lozenge in my mouth instead of helping me to throw up.  You deserve the highest award for being as smart as you are and thanks to the compassion and love your family had (with a little help from CNN), we were all given the opportunity to know your finest hour (and we think you will have many more)!

We give you hugs, with love and warmest regards for you and the Richards family from all of us.  Thank you for helping make the world go around!   Let there be Peace!

Barbara and Bernard in Brooklyn , NY

Thank you to you and your family for sharing this beautiful story. This proves that animals are not the dumb ones...we are for not undersatnding them..for they understand us more than we understand them. Wish the churchs would get off the 'me-me' business and practice the reason God put animals on this earth. After all, do they not remember the Animals at the Manger! Apparently, you and your family have and May God continue to Bless You

Hi Len I am Shailesh Sanzgiri (M47) from Goa,India.  I read about Lulu and must Congratulate you and your family for what Lulu has accomplished. I have had pets and know about animals, but I know that the credit for what Lulu has done, is deserved by your family equally. No animal however intelligent would do the kind of act done by Lulu unless it considered you  as a part of it's family. We humans try to make pets part of our family but I think that is wrong. Its when they accept us as part of their family that they can do such acts of valour. I would also give a medal to each one of you if I could.

Congratulations once again. Shailesh Sanzgiri

Way to go LuLu!

I read your story on CNN, and I'm so proud of you for saving your "dad".    I only wish if I were to get hurt that my 3 Jack Russells would come to my rescue. What a wonderful story!  It's such a breath of fresh air in a "bad news" world.

God bless, Lynne

I wish more people did care about animals...The numbers are increasing on this subject. I myself belong to the Humane Society of  United States, and I try to help those who can't speak for theirselves.  Man nor animal should have to have pain of any kind... Love and respect for humans and animals alike.  God bless our loving creatures.

Love Carla

Dear Lulu:

God bless you for bringing worldwide attention to the plight of Australia 's most native of marsupials, the kangaroo.  I don't think people here in the States realize what is going on down there in Australia ; that the place we have in our hearts is really being done to dust by corporations, politicians and cruel farming.

I will be boycotting Adidas, and any other so called “industry” that kills so cruelly and leaves the babies to starve…what kind of people do this?

You have brought world wide attention to animal welfare and the need to recognize that animals think and feel as we do.  Who among us would have remembered to open the airway?

God Bless your family for rescuing you from the roadside.
